All of the following AKC Field Champions of Record also have several American Field Shooting Dog Stakes, and Derby Stakes Qualifying Win Certificates.

The following is a Current List of the Pointing Bird Dogs at Grand Funks Kennels; FC AFC Pearl MH, Marcy, Mellow Yellow, Forest, FC Crystal Sky.   Other GSP's that will be shown are FC Bullet, FC AFC Charlie MH, FC AFC Rocky Road. Also 3X NSTRA Champion and Dam of Mellow Yellow "Georgia's Lighting Star" a Very Classy English Pointer and Excellent Pointing Bird Dog.

On March 6 & 7, 2010 AKC Field Trial held in Elberta, Utah.  Above is Grand Funk's Kennels Mellow Yellow a Fine English Pointer.  Mellow's latest Win was First Place at the AKC Walking Amateur Gun Dog Stake  that was Hosted by The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Utah.  Mellow is now on his way toward becoming an AKC Field Champion of Record.  There were 14 starters and this was a Three Point Major Win in a Amateur Gun Dog Stake for Mellow Yellow.  The Group Picture had a variety of AKC Gundogs that had placements at this Walking Field Trial.  2nd Place went to a Rare NAVDA winner and New AKC Field Champion German Wired Haired Pointer.   The same Wired Hair Pointer won the Open Gun Dog the Day before at this same Field Trial (Mellow was not entered in the Open Gun Dog Stake).  The 3rd Place Winner was a real nice Brittany.  The Fourth Place was awarded to either another Darker German Wired Hair or German Shorthaired Pointer.  I will find out and adjust the clarification on fourth place. 

FC Grand Funks Crystal Sky ran in both the Open Gun Dog and Amateur Gun Dog.  Crystal had her first find both days interfered by her brace mate the first day a Brittany and the 2nd Day another German Shorthaired Pointer,  both brace mates were more younger inexperienced dogs, both ripped out Crystals Chucker Find.  One Judge told me he thought the other dog actually made collision contact with Crystal running past Crystal at a high rate of speed to attempt catching the hard flying chucker.  Crystal was not a happy camper and was either chasing the other brace mate or the Chuckers that were flying away at a much higher rate of speed than both of the chasing dogs.  If I could communicate with Crystal in an interview I think she would tell me she was chasing after the other dogs. The reason I say that was the 2nd day Crystal chased the other dog for about one minute broke off the chase, Crystal then ran back on coarse and Pointed another Chucker about two hundred yards further up the correct coarse.  I had my Scout Brandon heal Crystal off the new find and bring her back to me as I was on foot.  We needed to get back to camp as the Judges were rounding up the next brace of dogs to run again and we were in their way.  I need to take Crystal out Training and set up this same situation with the help of someones younger dogs to teach  Crystal to stay put until I come to her and take her by the collar. After the next Training sessions we will see what happens.

  

Below is Roger from Tucson Arizona.  He purchased Two Fine German Shorthaired Pointer Puppy's from Grand Funk's Kennels Marcy and FC AFC Pearl MH litter from 2009.  Roger took First Place in both the Amateur Walking Puppy and Open Puppy Stakes at the Las Cruces, New Mexico AKC Field Trial held on March 19, 2010.  Roger also took Second Place at the same Field Trial with his other GSP male out of the same litter in Open Puppy.  There was at least one or two Pro-handlers present with other competing puppy's in the Open Stake.  I give Terry Chandler Credit for helping with the breeding of Marcy out of FC AFC Marshall and FC Grand Funk's Crystal Sky (All Open points put on Crystal are from Terry Chandlers Professional Handling).  

Below is Grand Funks Gretta Sky out of FC Crystal Sky, and the Grand Sire to Gretta on the lower Right is FC AFC Pearl MH, also the Sire to the two winning above GSP Males.  Pearl never had the luxury of running in either Puppy or Derby Stakes in AKC for unbroke points.  Pearl earned all his Open and Amateur Points in Broke Pointing Bird Dog Stakes. Pearl was over two years old when the Amateur Owner started running Pearl the Sire in AKC Gun Dog Stakes.

These Pointing  Bird Dogs will hunt close on foot and from horse back. Handle well for either an Experienced Bird Hunter or the Inexperienced Bird Hunter producing multiple finds for many Successful Hunting Seasons.
